Dean Works is a Brooklyn-based design studio founded by Brandon Dean.  Current work includes loft and apartment renovations in Brooklyn and Manhattan and new residential projects in Tennessee and Oregon.

Architecture is the business of getting to know people. Each project is a unique conversation where values and priorities are refined.

In addition, we strive to reduce the negative impacts construction has on the environment through selective material choices, adhering to passive-design building principles and utilizing sustainable technologies.  We aim to makes simple, balanced, and joyful spaces that express what matters most.

Originally from Minnesota, Brandon spent much of his youth exploring the forests, lakes, and construction sites of his ever-expanding neighborhood. With both of his grandfathers in the business of construction and engineering, and his parents in real estate, Brandon knew from a young age that he wanted to be an architect.

He pursued his interests in design (skiing, climbing, surfing, etc.) at the University of Oregon and received a Bachelor of Architecture in 2009.

Prior to founding Dean Works, Brandon spent eight years at Deborah Berke Partners.  While there, he was project manager for the New Haven arts incubator NXTHVN, a 40,000 square foot project involving a new striking addition and the renovation of two former factory buildings.  He worked on home designs in Connecticut, the Hamptons, and high-end residences in the city.  Additionally, he worked with the New York City's Department of Cultural Affairs, transforming a former public school into the community performing arts center PS 122.
