This tiny kitchen and bathroom renovation had one big ambition, to make a formerly cramped apartment open and airy. The stragetic transformation began by demolishing the existing kitchen, which was the size of a small closet, and making space for the new layout.
During the demolition process, we found an undocumented vertical gas pipe that could not be moved and that was located directly in the middle of the soon-to-be countertop.
The quick but well-considered design solution involved building a new kitchen wall and making a "thick" backsplash with carved-out marble storage areas. The resulting design was both practical, unique, and beautiful.
