The driving force behind the renovation of this one bedroom loft in Brooklyn was to open up the walled-in kitchen and provide a new spacious feeling that was sympathetic to the existing loft character. In considering the materials, we wanted to create a delicate balance of natural and industrial while simultaneously creating a fun kitchen for serious cooking and entertaining. Another key design move included adding transom windows in the bedroom, which provides natural light to the bathroom and kitchen.

Each space in the residence was carefully considered and designed to maximize functionality and storage. Integrated desk space, cabinets, closets, and shelving, were all massaged into place and fit the loft aesthetics. The project is currently on hold, but we anticipate construction starting sometime in early 2022.
