The real estate developer, ZMX Incorporated, reached out Dean Works to master-plan a four-house development in Nashville, Tennessee. DW was tasked with designing unique homes that felt modern, minimal, and Scandinavian-inspired.  To make the overall massing of the mini-development look varied but unified, each home was designed as a series of connected "black cubes and white gables". In essence, each has similar materials and shapes, but each is tweaked, turned, and detailed to create a unique spatial experience at each home. The exterior palette of vertical black boards and white stucco further reinforce the massing concept and deliver a striking new series of homes to Nashville's housing stock.
