This full-floor renovation of a Chelsea office space required inventive rethinking of the large, open floor plan. The new space contains twenty six private therapist offices, a staff kitchen, storage space, and bathrooms.

Given the nature of therapy work, careful attention to the acoustic qualities of the construction materials was paramount to the office's success. The reception and waiting areas became moments for architectural expression. Wood fins screen these spaces to provide privacy in one direction (entering) and transparency (exiting) in the other. Each space was carefully considered to create intimate areas for contemplation and discussion.
